"We've stayed at the Village Suites (used to be the Windmill Inn) in Ashland many times while visiting our son who's in college at SOU. We have two dogs and need a place that welcomes them, too. We usually get a King Suite, it's always spotless and serviced every day. There is plush carpeting, plenty of closet space, a kitchenette, sitting room with cable tv and a sleeper sofa; French doors lead into the bedroom with king bed and another tv. There's a large a super clean full bathroom, and a second sink/vanity in the bedroom area. There's plenty of room for both of us and the dogs.
We've even stayed in a similar suite with our other teen and there was plenty of room for everyone. The king bed was very comfortable and I slept like a top. This last time we stayed we got a stay-2-nights-get-3rd-night-free deal, so we only paid $69/night. It's just off the highway, but extremely quiet and our room had a gorgeous view of the hills north of town. It must be very well sound-proofed, too, we never hear noise from other rooms or guests. Lots of room for the dogs to run outside, and even though it's not downtown it's literally just a 5-minute drive to the center of Ashland, even less to the SOU campus. Although the pool is not available, they have tennis courts and bicycles for use, and there's even a commons area outdoors with lounge chairs, tables and a gas grill for guests to use. Staff is very friendly and helpful and efficient.
We had no complaints whatsoever."

"It was quiet, clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Also, it felt safe. Important for a mother and daughter traveling alone (in town to check out the college). The room has a small coffeemaker, microwave and fridge. There are three sinks in the room; one in the bathroom, one in the bedroom and one in the area with the fridge, etc. There is a living room area with couch, chair, desk and TV. The bedroom area, which can be closed off from the living room with double doors, has two double beds and a TV. All in all, a great value for the money. You can't go wrong by staying here."
